Woman stabbed in Oldham, suspect at large
A woman in her 20s is fighting for her life after being stabbed in Greenacres last night. Police were called to Greenwood Street at 10:40pm following reports of an assault, where they found the victim with serious stab wounds.
The suspect remains at large as forensic teams and police dogs continue searching the area. A cordon has been set up blocking parts of Spring Street, Raper Street, and Greenwood Street while investigators work through the night.
A forensics van was spotted taking photographs around the scene on Saturday afternoon, with multiple GMP vehicles and sniffer dogs assisting officers. The victim is currently in hospital in critical condition.
Chief Inspector Ian Partington has reassured residents that officers are 'exhausting all lines of enquiry' to locate the suspect. 'Incidents of this nature are taken extremely seriously,' he said, as the investigation continues.
