Woman fighting for life after stabbing in Oldham as suspect remains at large
A woman in her 20s is fighting for her life after being stabbed on Greenwood Street in Oldham's Greenacres area last night. Police were called to the scene at around 10:40pm on Friday, March 27, where they found the victim with serious injuries consistent with a stabbing.
The woman was rushed to hospital and remains in critical condition as of Saturday afternoon. No arrests have been made, and detectives are 'exhausting all lines of enquiry' to track down the suspect who remains at large.
A police cordon remains in place on Greenwood Street and surrounding roads, with officers standing guard and conducting their investigation through the night. Chief Inspector Ian Partington from GMP's Oldham district confirmed that extra patrols have been deployed in the neighbourhood.
Partington described the incident as 'a shocking act of violence' and urged anyone with information, dashcam footage, CCTV, or mobile phone recordings from the area to come forward. The police have asked people to call 101 quoting log 3694 of 27/03/26, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
