Welcome to the fairy garden fundraising trail
The Friends of Dobcross School (FODS) are hosting the Fairy Garden Trail fundraising event from August 18 to August 31, 2025, in Dobcross village. The event features nursery rhyme-themed displays, and visitors can purchase maps for £3 to explore the trail. Partnering with Big Tiny Productions, FODS is offering tickets to the Millgate Christmas pantomime as a prize. Last year's event raised £419 for school enrichment projects and IT equipment.
Dobcross transforms into an enchanted fairy wonderland next Monday as the Friends of Dobcross School (FODS) launch their second annual Fairy Garden Trail, running August 18-31 with nursery rhyme-themed displays scattered throughout the village.
Visitors armed with £3 trail maps will hunt for whimsical exhibits based on traditional nursery rhymes, with the community-wide scavenger hunt building on last year’s successful debut that raised £419 for Holy Trinity Dobcross school’s enrichment programs and IT equipment.
“We want to encourage outdoor enjoyment with this fun, low-cost activity for all the family, so come and join in the fun and see everything Dobcross has to offer!” said a FODS spokesperson.
The fundraising effort partners with Big Tiny productions, producers of this year’s Millgate Christmas pantomime “Hansel and Gretel,” who have donated four panto tickets as a prize for participants who correctly identify all nursery rhyme themes. Maps are available at Dobcross Village Store, Lime Kiln Cafe, the Swan, and Dobcross Band Club, either on the day or in advance through Ticket Source.
