Walker rescued by ten-strong Oldham team
A ten-member team from Oldham Mountain Rescue assisted in rescuing a young female walker who fell near Stalybridge, working for two hours to transport her to safety.
Oldham Mountain Rescue spent two hours yesterday helping paramedics evacuate a young woman who tumbled while walking on rough ground above Stalybridge.
The ten-member volunteer unit reached the scene minutes after North West Ambulance Service requested assistance at mid-morning. NWAS crews had already stabilised the injured walker.
Rescuers transferred her to a mountain-rescue stretcher and ferried her down the steep, rutted track to the waiting ambulance for the journey to hospital.
