The Mahdlo Youth Zone Three Peaks of Saddleworth challenge is set to return for 2025
The Mahdlo Youth Zone Three Peaks of Saddleworth challenge is returning on July 5, 2025, sponsored by KG Construction for the third consecutive year. The 15-mile hike features iconic landmarks and supports Mahdlo Youth Zone, a charity aiding young people in Oldham. Participants receive event perks, and fundraising support is available.
Hikers will lace up their boots on Saturday, July 5, 2025, for the return of the Mahdlo Three Peaks of Saddleworth challenge, a 15-mile trek across Pots and Pans, Indian’s Head and Wharmton Hill.
KG Construction has signed on as headline sponsor for the third straight year, backing the event that last year channelled thousands of pounds into Mahdlo Youth Zone’s programmes for Oldham’s young people.
Walkers of any fitness level can choose to raise funds for Mahdlo, support a different charity, or simply enjoy the Pennine views; every participant receives a commemorative T-shirt, breakfast, picnic, on-route refreshments and a roast-beef carvery sandwich at the Royal George in Greenfield when they finish.
Kristian Greaves, Managing Director of KG Construction, said: “I am proud to share that we are supporting Mahdlo Youth Zone for the third year running. Mahdlo continues to make a real difference in the lives of young people across our community. Their commitment to providing a safe, supportive and inspiring space for youth to grow, learn and thrive is something that we truly believe in. Since we have been involved with supporting Mahdlo, it’s been overwhelming to see the work that they do for our community and this is something we are honoured to stand behind and help them continue their work in Oldham. We are born and raised in Oldham, from working-class families and it’s our way of giving something back to the town that shaped us, helping to provide the next generation with opportunities, support and a safe space we never had. We can’t wait to lace up those walking boots again and get those steps in whilst admiring the stunning views of Oldham and the Pennines with all the friendly faces and dogs. It’s a challenge we immediately look forward to doing again the year later as soon as we get to the finish line, whilst socialising with a nice cold beer and a warm roast beef sandwich courtesy of the team at the Royal George. We would love to see you there and supporting such a brilliant cause.”
Individual and group places are open now, with booking and information available through Mahdlo Youth Zone.
