Spark Oldham aim to help make high school prom day extra special for all

Spark Oldham, a Community Interest Company, is seeking community donations to help local families afford high school prom expenses amid rising costs of living. They aim to ensure all students can participate by covering costs like tickets, attire, and transportation.

Oldham community group appeals for help to cut prom costs

A community organisation in Oldham has launched an appeal to ease the financial burden of school proms on local families.

Spark Oldham says rising living costs mean many parents now struggle to give their children the end-of-year celebration they deserve. The group wants residents and businesses to donate money, clothes or transport so every teenager can attend their prom regardless of family income.

Donations will be used to buy tickets, outfits and other prom essentials for pupils who would otherwise miss out. The organisation stressed that even small contributions can have a big impact.
