SpaceInvader sponsors Hulme Grammar School under-12s football team

Hulme Grammar School's under-12s football team has secured sponsorship from SpaceInvader, an interior design agency founded by alumnus John Williams, providing new kits and equipment to support youth development.

Hulme Grammar School’s under-12s football team will take the field this season in brand-new kits after securing sponsorship from SpaceInvader, an award-winning interior design agency founded by former pupil John Williams.

Williams, who left the school in 1991, has stepped forward to fund new kits and equipment for the young players. “Returning to support Hulme Grammar, particularly the under-12s football team, is an incredible opportunity to contribute to the development of the next generation,” he said. “Football builds essential life skills like teamwork, resilience, and discipline, and I’m honoured to play a part in helping these young players grow into content and ambitious individuals.”

The partnership strengthens the school’s sporting legacy, which includes former Manchester City footballer Nedum Onuoha and former Arsenal and West Ham Women’s goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse among its alumni. Director of Sport Gus Hurst welcomed the support: “Football is a vital part of our sports programme, inspiring pupils to strive for excellence. With this sponsorship from John Williams and SpaceInvader, we may well see the next rising star emerge from our school. We are incredibly grateful for their generous support, which will motivate our young players and enhance their experience on the pitch.”

The sponsorship demonstrates the ongoing relationship between Hulme Grammar and its former students, while highlighting how local businesses can support educational and youth development initiatives.
