Diggle’s annual Scarecrow Trail has returned for 2025, with organizers promising spectacular displays themed around ‘Heroes and Villains’ that will line village streets and gardens through April 21.
The popular spring tradition draws hundreds of visitors who follow trail maps to discover creative scarecrow installations crafted by local residents. This year’s superhero and villain theme has inspired participants to construct elaborate figures ranging from comic book characters to historical figures and fictional favorites.
Trail sheets guiding visitors to each scarecrow location are available through TicketSource or can be picked up at Grandpa Greene’s, The Gate Inn, Diggle Lock and The Diggle Hotel. Organizers have arranged free parking at Saddleworth School to accommodate the increased traffic during the three-week event.
Forecasters predict favorable weather conditions for the trail’s opening days, encouraging families to explore the outdoor exhibition while supporting local businesses that participate in the village-wide celebration.
