School charity reindeer run raises vital funds for Dr Kershaw's

Children and staff at Burnley Brow school in Chadderton participated in a charity Reindeer Run, raising £401 for Dr Kershaw's Hospice. The event featured festive music, reindeer antlers, and a visit from Father Christmas and the hospice mascot Hartley.

Burnley Brow school in Chadderton transformed into a winter wonderland as nursery through year 6 pupils sprinted around the hall and playground in a charity Reindeer Run, raising £401 for Royton’s Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.

The festive fundraiser saw children sporting reindeer antlers donated by the hospice while dashing to Christmas music, led by none other than Father Christmas himself. Representatives from Dr Kershaw’s cheered on the runners throughout the morning, with mascot Hartley proving particularly popular among the young participants.

Year 3 pupil Inaaya captured the spirit of the event, declaring: “I loved the run. I was tired after it but it was worth it. I am so happy I get the keep my antlers!”

The morning’s activities concluded with staff announcing the impressive fundraising total, demonstrating the school’s commitment to supporting their local community hospice.
