Property closed in Stretford as neighbourhood officers tackle ASB and drug dealing

Greater Manchester Police and Trafford Council collaborated to address drug dealing and anti-social behaviour in Stretford, executing a drugs warrant at Haydock Close and securing a Partial Closure Order for the property until 21 August 2025. A male was arrested, and class B drugs and cash were seized. Additionally, three men and a woman were arrested in Timperley for suspected class A drug supply. Authorities emphasized community cooperation and the use of legal tools like closure orders to combat crime.

Police Shut Down Stretford Property Linked to Drug Activity

Greater Manchester Police and Trafford Council secured a Partial Closure Order against a Haydock Close property in Gorse Hill following a drugs raid that recovered class B drugs and cash on May 19.

The court order, which runs until August 21, bans anyone except the named tenant and authorized personnel from entering the address. The action came after GMP’s Trafford North Neighbourhood Policing Team and Trafford Community Safety Team executed a warrant at the property, leading to one male arrest who has since been bailed.

The crackdown extended to Timperley this week, where officers arrested three men and a woman on suspicion of supplying class A drugs following a warrant on Marshfield Road.

Inspector Scott Wolstenholme emphasized the importance of community intelligence in tackling drug dealing and anti-social behaviour. “We rely on information from the public to aid our investigations and we will take action against anyone who is a blight on our communities,” he stated. “We have a number of tools at our disposal to tackle community crime like drug dealing, ASB and theft including the courts, behaviour orders and house closures, and we will use those in conjunction with partners like Trafford Council.”

Councillor Rose Thompson, Executive Member for Communities and Safety at Trafford Council, confirmed the property had been a persistent problem despite previous enforcement action. “This action sends a clear message that we will not tolerate properties being used for serious criminal activity,” she said. “Despite earlier enforcement, the problems at this address persisted and continued to place local residents at risk.”

Residents can report concerns to GMP on 101, via their website, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Council concerns can be directed to 0161 912 3434.
