Police are appealing for two more witnesses to come forward in connection with a fatal collision on 15 March 2025, where a car left the carriageway and ended up in Crook Gate Reservoir, resulting in the deaths of a man and woman in their 70s. A new CCTV image has been released of individuals seen at Junction Inn car park on 14 March 2025, who may have information relevant to the investigation.

Two elderly residents died when their vehicle plunged into Crook Gate Reservoir in Denshaw on 15 March 2025, prompting a witness appeal by Greater Manchester Police.

Emergency crews responded to reports of a car submerged in the water shortly after the incident occurred. A man and woman, both in their 70s, were pronounced dead at the scene when officers arrived. Investigators determined the vehicle had left the roadway before entering the reservoir.
