Police issue witness appeal after Oldham road collision leaves 13-year-old boy with serious injuries

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious road collision on the A62 Oldham Way involving a car and a 13-year-old pedestrian, who sustained serious injuries. A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

A 13-year-old boy is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car on the A62 Oldham Way shortly after 9pm Friday.

A 39-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and remains in custody, Greater Manchester Police said.

The Serious Collision Investigation Unit has asked anyone who saw the incident, near the Prince Street junction, or who has dash-cam or phone footage from the area beforehand, to call 0161 856 4741 quoting log 3295 of 07/03/25.
