A £1,500 cruise-control radar was stolen from a car parked at Royal Oldham Hospital while its owner attended an evening appointment with his pregnant wife, Greater Manchester Police said.
The device — which lets a vehicle keep a set distance from traffic ahead — was taken from the car sometime between 17:30 and 20:45 on 12 July.
Detectives have released a CCTV still of a man they wish to interview and are asking anyone who recognises him to come forward.
