Police appeal for information following a serious collision in Oldham

Police are appealing for information after a serious collision between a car and a pedestrian on the A62 Oldham Way on 7 March. A 13-year-old boy sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized, while a 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Authorities are seeking witnesses or any footage of the incident.

13-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured in Oldham Road Collision, Driver Arrested

A 13-year-old boy suffered serious injuries after being struck by a car on the A62 Oldham Way shortly after 9pm on Friday, March 7. Emergency services rushed to the scene, just past the junction with Prince Street, where they found the pedestrian with significant injuries.

The boy was transported to hospital for treatment of his serious injuries. A 39-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and remains in police custody for questioning.

Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit has launched an investigation into the incident and is appealing for witnesses to come forward. Investigators are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have captured footage of the collision or the moments leading up to it, including dashcam or mobile phone recordings.
