Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for information following a road traffic collision on Ashton Road in Oldham on Sunday 27 October 2024

A serious road traffic collision occurred on Ashton Road in Oldham on 27 October 2024, involving a Toyota Prius and an 83-year-old woman. Initially thought to have minor injuries, the woman is now in a life-threatening condition. The driver remained at the scene and is assisting with enquiries. Police are appealing for witnesses or any footage of the incident.

An 83-year-old woman is fighting for her life after being struck by a Toyota Prius while in the roadway on Ashton Road in Oldham Sunday night.

The collision occurred around 9:05 pm as the Prius traveled northbound toward Oldham. Initially believed to have sustained only minor injuries, the woman was transported to hospital where her condition deteriorated to life-threatening.

The driver remained at the scene and has cooperated with investigators from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, who are now seeking witnesses to the incident.

Police are particularly interested in obtaining dashcam, mobile phone, or doorbell footage from the area captured moments before the collision.
