Oldham RU announce new first XV captain and vice-captain
Oldham RUFC has announced Stuart Brennan as the new first XV captain for the 2025/26 season, replacing the retired Nick Hackman. Brennan, a long-standing member of the club, will be supported by vice-captain Jack Taylor, who was voted player of the year last season. Both players are expected to lead the team in their push for promotion to Lancashire and Cheshire Division 2.

Oldham RUFC first XV will have a new captain for the 2025/26 season - Stuart Brennan.
He will take over the reins from Nick Hackman, who has retired following the last campaign.
Brennan was assistant coach last season post retiring and then made a comeback after Christmas, giving the team the much-needed go forward that it was lacking.
A strong ball carrier and resolute defender, “Moose”, as he is affectionately known, will lead from the front and will also challenge the squad to push for promotion this season.
Brennan is not only a long-standing member of both the playing side of the club, but also of the committee and mini sections.
He commands respect both on and off the field.
Another stalwart of the club will be his vice-captain - Jack Taylor.
Taylor is like a fine wine who seems to get better with age.
Last season saw his best form, and week in week out he was one of Oldham’s top performers.
So much so that he was voted player of the year.
His continued guile and vigour will be much-needed if Oldham are to hit their goals for the season of promotion back to Lancashire and Cheshire Division 2.
