Police are seeking information about a robbery that occurred at the intersection of Crosby Street and Leyton Street in Rochdale on March 6, 2025, at 10:40 am. A 77-year-old woman was knocked to the ground and had her handbag stolen, sustaining life-changing injuries. Authorities are urging witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to come forward.
A 77-year-old woman suffered life-changing injuries Thursday morning when a robber knocked her to the ground and stole her handbag at the corner of Crosby Street and Leyton Street in Rochdale.
The attack occurred at 10:40am on 6 March 2025 as the victim walked along the street. Police say an unknown suspect approached the woman, knocked her down, and fled with her handbag. Emergency services transported the injured woman to hospital where doctors determined her injuries to be life-altering.
Greater Manchester Police have pursued multiple investigative leads and are now turning to the public for assistance. Investigators are particularly interested in anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area around the time of the robbery.
