Officers appeal for information following fatal road traffic collision in Middleton
Police are appealing for information after a fatal collision involving a Ford Transit reversing into an 80-year-old pedestrian on Oldham Road in Middleton. The incident occurred on 22 March, and the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries on 1 May. The driver remained at the scene, and authorities are seeking witnesses or footage to aid the investigation.
An 80-year-old man has died after being struck by a reversing Ford Transit on Oldham Road in Middleton, police confirmed.
The collision occurred shortly before 2pm on Saturday 22 March. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital, where he passed away from his injuries on Thursday 1 May.
The driver of the Ford Transit stopped at the scene and remained there while emergency services responded.
The Serious Collision Investigation Unit has launched an appeal for witnesses as they work to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident. Investigators are particularly interested in obtaining CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone footage from the area at the time of the collision.
