Man charged with murder following death of cyclist in Altrincham

A man has been charged with murder, manslaughter, dangerous driving, failing to stop, and driving without insurance following a fatal collision that killed a cyclist on Paddock Lane, Altrincham on Monday 20 April.

Simon Richardson, of no fixed address, has been charged with murder following a fatal collision on Paddock Lane in Altrincham on Monday 20 April. The incident occurred at around 6:10pm.

Richardson has also been charged with manslaughter, dangerous driving, failing to stop, and driving without insurance. He was remanded in custody and appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Friday 24 April.

Police are continuing to appeal for information as the investigation progresses. They are seeking any witnesses, CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from the area at the time of the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101, or via the LiveChat function on the website, quoting log 2771 of 20/04/26.
