GM Mayor Burnham to speak at Mahdlo breakfast

Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham will speak at Mahdlo Youth Zone's business breakfast on October 14 in Oldham town centre, with tickets priced at £9.50 per person, with proceeds supporting Mahdlo's youth programs. The event includes a Q&A session and is sponsored by BTM Wealth Management Ltd.

Andy Burnham will address Oldham business leaders at Mahdlo Youth Zone’s October breakfast, sharing his vision for Greater Manchester while raising funds for borough-wide youth programmes.

The third-term mayor takes the podium on Tuesday, 14 October, at the Sir Norman Stoller Way centre, with £9.50 tickets covering breakfast and refreshments and every penny channelled into activities for 8- to 19-year-olds, or up to 25 for those with disabilities.

Burnham, who oversees the ten-authority city-region’s economy, housing, transport and emergency services, is expected to highlight his pledge to deliver a London-style Bee Network, end the housing crisis by 2038, roll out a technical-education alternative to university, and launch the Live Well service aimed at making GM “a great place to grow up, get on, and grow old.”

After speaking, the former Treasury, Culture, Health and Shadow Home Secretary will field questions from guests, helping Mahdlo towards its £1.9 million annual fundraising goal that keeps 4,000 local young people engaged in sport, arts and support projects. Manchester wealth manager BTM Wealth Management Ltd is sponsoring the event; managing director Ben McLoughlin said the firm is “committed to building a lasting partnership with Mahdlo, supporting their mission through volunteering, advocacy, and raising awareness of the vital role they play in the community.”
