Three cars collided on Huddersfield Road in Diggle yesterday afternoon, prompting a major emergency response from firefighters and paramedics.
The crash occurred just before 4:30pm when emergency services received reports of the multi-vehicle incident. Two fire engines from Mossley and Chadderton fire stations, along with the technical rescue unit from Leigh fire station, rushed to the scene.
Two elderly passengers from one vehicle received treatment at the roadside from North West Ambulance Service crews. The driver of a second car was assessed by paramedics before being transported to hospital, while the third driver escaped without injury.
Fire crews worked to secure the area and clear debris from the roadway. They remained on scene until approximately 5:00pm before handing over control to Greater Manchester Police officers.
