Family pays tribute to ‘true gentleman’ Dominic Lloyd, 24, who died in M62 crash

The family of a 24-year-old man who died when his car left the motorway and struck a bridge support on the M62 have described him as “a wonderful person who always put others before himself”.

Dominic Lloyd, from Bolton, was pronounced dead at the scene of the single-vehicle collision between junctions 19 and 18 shortly after 7 pm on Sunday 2 March.

In a statement released through Greater Manchester Police, his relatives said:

“Dom was our loving son, brother and grandson. Caring, focused and a true gentleman, he was everybody’s go-to guy and a rock for his friends and family. He had so much love in his heart and never hesitated to offer support.

“He was wickedly funny and loved to tease, but only in fun, and it always lifted people’s spirits. Thoughtful, generous and respectful, he was mature beyond his years and determined to build a successful career.

“Cars were his passion, and one of his dreams was to buy his mum, Claire, a white Range Rover Sport. He enjoyed paddle-ball, go-karting, table-tennis, pool and football, and would travel miles to try a new restaurant rather than spend an evening in a pub. In summer he was always off exploring new walking trails.

“He also loved gaming, cinema trips and a good Netflix binge. Loyal, optimistic and incredibly funny, he had his whole future mapped out. We are devastated beyond words and will miss him every single day.”

Officers continue to appeal for witnesses. Anyone with dash-cam footage or information is asked to call 0161 856 4741 or 101, quoting incident 3219 of 2/3/25. Details can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
