Help protect Crompton Moor's wildlife at free Shaw conservation day

A free conservation day is taking place on Crompton Moor in Shaw on Friday, May 1, organised by Friends of Crompton Moor. The volunteer event, held in association with the City of Trees initiative, aims to protect the moor's biodiversity through pond conservation work including digging, planting, removing unwanted plants, and repairing leaky dams. Volunteers should meet at 10.30am at the Brushes Clough car park near Shore Edge Methodist Chapel on Buckstones Road. The activity is open to all, with children over 16 welcome if accompanied by an adult. Participants are advised to wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear and bring a packed lunch.
