Two 22-year-old men were arrested in Oldham for allegedly selling class A drugs concealed in Lynx deodorant and WD-40 canisters. Police found approximately 100 wraps of heroin and cocaine, along with cash and mobile phones, during a search of their vehicle. Both suspects were bailed pending further investigations.

Two 22-year-old men have been arrested after police discovered class A drugs hidden inside fake Christmas gift containers during a routine patrol in Oldham.

Officers observed a woman approaching a parked Volkswagen Golf containing two men, prompting them to investigate further. While an initial search revealed only a small amount of cannabis, a more thorough examination uncovered approximately 100 wraps of heroin and cocaine concealed within hollowed-out Lynx deodorant and WD-40 canisters.

The drugs, along with three mobile phones and £200-300 in cash, were recovered from a hidden compartment in the vehicle. Both occupants were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, and the vehicle was seized for having no insurance.

PC Patel from Greater Manchester Police’s Operation Venture unit said: “Once again this job highlights how effective our proactive patrols are in clamping down on those intent on committing crime. We all know drugs have a devastating impact on society. As suspected criminals look to find ways to conceal their wrongdoings from us, we are also adapting and evolving to ensure we stay one step ahead of them, and we will catch them out.”

The suspects have been bailed pending further enquiries. Police are encouraging the public to report any suspicious activity via 101, the GMP website’s LiveChat, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
