GMP credited public engagement with the post for her arrest.
Manchester police arrested a 22-year-old woman who mocked them by commenting “hey guys” on her own wanted appeal posted to their social media account.
Officers from the Manchester City Centre team located the fugitive at an address on Platt Lane in Fallowfield, where they discovered her hiding under a pile of children’s toys in one of the rooms. She was initially wanted for failing to appear in court on three counts of assaulting emergency workers, plus drugs offences and theft.
The woman now faces an additional charge of assaulting a police officer and remains in custody for questioning by GMP detectives.
Detective Inspector Natalie McDonald from GMP’s Manchester Central Neighbourhood Crime Team praised the arrest: “We currently have a woman in custody being questioned by detectives thanks to the swift actions of our officers. We want to thank everyone who engaged with our post, it ultimately helped us to locate and arrest this woman and we have dedicated teams of officers across Manchester who are actively seeking and arresting those who are wanted.”
