Welcome to HPP’s 25-year club, Jason!

Jason Hilton, a CNC drill and machine operator at Hill's Panel Products (HPP), has reached 25 years of service, becoming the 15th employee to achieve this milestone. He received a framed certificate, commemorative plaque, and a £100 reward, which he spent on trainers. HPP's long-service scheme rewards employees in five-year increments, with Jason previously receiving a 20-year award when the program launched in 2024. Jason praised HPP as a great workplace and has no plans to leave, aiming for a 30-year award. HPP marketing manager Kenika Gumbs congratulated him on his dedication.

CNC drill and machine operator Jason Hilton has become the 15th employee to earn a place on Hill’s Panel Products’ 25-year service wall of fame, marking a quarter-century with the Oldham-based interior fitted furniture manufacturer.

Hilton, who works in Board Production 1, collected a framed certificate, commemorative plaque and £100 reward—money he has already swapped for “a couple of pairs of trendy new trainers.” The milestone also makes him a double beneficiary of HPP’s long-service scheme; when the programme launched in 2024 he qualified for the 20-year award, receiving an extra £100 voucher, certificate and bonus holidays.

“When the scheme was launched, I’d done 24 years, so I was one short of the 25-award, but I got the 20-award instead,” Hilton explained. “It’s always been just a really great place to work. I’ve seen a lot of good lads come and go but even all the new lads are just as good.”

The dad-of-two started at HPP on the night shift as a dim-saw operative after a relative tipped him off about the job. He spent 12 years on nights until the shift was phased out around the pandemic, then moved to CNC drilling. Now 25 years in, he has no plans to leave and is already targeting the 30-year accolade.
