Vice-captain Wildie commits to Oldham

Oldham Roughyeds' vice-captain Matty Wildie has signed a one-year contract extension to stay with the club for the 2026 season. Wildie, a 34-year-old hooker, has been a standout performer since joining from Featherstone, earning the Coaches' Player of the Year in 2024. Despite elbow surgery earlier this year, he has returned to top form. Wildie expressed his happiness with the club's progress and his commitment to helping Oldham achieve their goal of returning to Super League. Head coach Sean Long praised Wildie's leadership and game management skills.
