Two teenagers arrested in connection with machete incidents in South Manchester

Two Teenagers Arrested in South Manchester Machete Investigation

Greater Manchester Police have arrested two teenagers following early morning warrants executed in South Manchester on Wednesday, 12 March 2025.

The boys, aged 15 and 16, were arrested on suspicion of wounding and remain in police custody.

The arrests follow a four-month investigation into multiple incidents involving teenagers armed with machetes and zombie knives in violent disorder across South Manchester. Police confirmed no serious injuries were reported in connection with these incidents.

Detective Inspector John Robb from the City of Manchester South district stated: “Our team has been investigating a series of machete incidents in South Manchester over the last four months. These arrests today are an excellent result, but our work does not stop there. We will continue our efforts to investigate these crimes and bring those responsible to justice.”

Extra patrols will be deployed across South Manchester. Officers encourage residents to approach them with any concerns.
