Two people charged after series of robberies in Manchester

Two individuals, Adrecko Mykele Rose and a 15-year-old male, have been charged in connection with a series of robberies in Manchester, including incidents in the city centre, Hulme, and universities area. Rose faces seven counts of robbery and possession of a bladed article, while the teenager is charged with four counts of robbery. The police emphasize their commitment to tackling robbery and ensuring public safety.

Two suspects face robbery charges following a spate of knife-point muggings that terrorised Manchester’s city centre, Hulme and university districts throughout February.

Adrecko Mykele Rose, 22, of Moss Lane West, Trafford, was arrested yesterday and charged with seven robberies and possession of a bladed article. He was remanded overnight to appear before magistrates this morning. A 15-year-old boy had already been charged with four robberies linked to the same cluster of attacks, in which victims reported being threatened with a knife.

Detective Natalie McDonald of Central Manchester’s neighbourhood crime team said dedicated robbery squads across Greater Manchester “will always take action against perpetrators” and warned that stamping out street robbery is a force priority. “We want residents, students and visitors to feel safe,” she added.
