Three arrests secured as police continue to tackle drugs supply in Oldham

Police from Operation Vulcan and the Oldham Complex Safeguarding Team conducted a coordinated operation resulting in three arrests (two men aged 24 and 18, and a 17-year-old boy) on suspicion of supplying Class B drugs in the Derker, St Mary’s, and Holts areas. Suspected drugs and electronic devices were seized during property searches. This action follows community intelligence and forensic analysis from an earlier drug recovery. Over 120 arrests have been made in Derker since Operation Vulcan began nearly six months ago.

Three Arrested in Oldham Drug Raids as Operation Vulcan Tally Passes 120

Oldham police arrested two men and a 17-year-old boy during dawn raids on Tuesday after forensic work on earlier drug seizures pointed to suspects supplying large quantities of Class B drugs. Officers from Operation Vulcan and the Oldham Complex Safeguarding Team hit three addresses in St Mary’s and Holts at breakfast time, recovering suspected drugs and electronic devices from two of the properties.

The 24-year-old, 18-year-old and teenager were held on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs. The swoop brings the number of arrests in the Derker-based Operation Vulcan to more than 120 in just under six months for offences ranging from drug dealing to theft and weapons possession.

Inspector Dan Cullum, of GMP’s Vulcan team, said: “Today’s action comes as part of Vulcan’s commitment to ridding the streets of Derker and surrounding areas of illicit substances that can cause immeasurable harm to the community. We are dedicated to working with all appropriate partners and teams to find and punish those responsible for crimes, while safeguarding vulnerable people who need our help.”

He urged anyone with information about local criminality to contact police directly or anonymously as the force continues to act on community intelligence.
