Sword, cash and drugs seized following police pursuit of suspicious car
Greater Manchester Police arrested two men in Oldham after a pursuit of a suspicious car, seizing drugs, cash, and a sword. The suspects face multiple charges including drug possession and dangerous driving.
Two men are in custody after a police pursuit through Oldham ended with a crash and the discovery of drugs, cash and a sword.
The chase began at 9:40am Thursday when patrol officers spotted a suspicious black BMW 1 series on Hollins Road. The driver refused to stop, leading police on a brief pursuit that ended when the vehicle crashed on nearby Birchenlea Street.
Both occupants attempted to flee the scene but were quickly apprehended. During a search of the damaged vehicle, officers recovered a quantity of cash, drugs and a sword.
The 19-year-old and 21-year-old suspects were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, dangerous driving, failing to stop, and possession of an offensive weapon. They remain in police custody for questioning.
