Social workers invited to new Oldham recruitment event

Oldham Council is hosting a recruitment event for aspiring children's social workers on Wednesday, December 4th, from 4pm to 7pm at the HIVE offices in Spindles. The event will offer on-the-day interviews, information on the role, benefits, and the council's systemic practice model. Interested candidates can also request interviews in advance and must submit specific documents by November 27th to be considered.

Aspiring children’s social workers can walk away with job offers next month when Oldham Council hosts recruitment interviews on the spot at its new HIVE offices.

The council will open its Spindles location from 4pm to 7pm on Wednesday 4 December, giving candidates direct access to hiring managers for roles paying £37,938 to £52,805. Applicants who submit complete credentials by 27 November can secure same-day interviews for positions ranging from newly qualified practitioner to team manager.

“We are always looking for the best people to join our fantastic team of social workers - people who are committed to giving children and young people the best start in life,” said Councillor Shaid Mushtaq, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People. “As a ‘Good’ Children’s Services provider, Oldham is a great place to work as a social worker and the job is incredibly rewarding too.”

Prospective employees must email CVs, Social Work England registration, DBS certificates, driving licences and proof of address to [email protected] before the deadline, specifying preferred roles and interview slots. The event will also feature a seminar on the council’s systemic practice model and detail career progression pathways through its in-house training academy.

Current vacancies appear at www.leadingoldham.co.uk/childrens-services, with Eventbrite handling event registration.
