Oldham Council's website now puts winter aid, housing and benefit links on single pages to save residents time.

Oldham Council has refreshed its online help pages so residents can find winter support, housing aid and benefit advice in one place instead of hunting across separate sections.

The winter page now pulls together school closure alerts, gritting routes and grants for heating repairs, while the housing section links social-home applications, rent help and homelessness support.

A new cost-of-living hub gathers warm-home discounts, council-tax reductions and emergency grants that previously sat on different pages, meaning people no longer need to phone the town hall to learn what exists.

Bin calendars, planning searches and pest-control forms have also been grouped by theme, cutting the number of clicks needed to report missed collections or check a planning reference.

Council staff say the tidy-up is meant to shave minutes off each online visit, but they admit some residents who rely on paper forms may still need help making the switch.
