A 23-year-old man faces attempted murder charges after a shooting on Shaw Road in Oldham last Thursday left an 18-year-old hospitalized with serious injuries.

Ethan Glasgow-Lattibeaudiere, who has no fixed address, appeared at Manchester Salford Magistrates yesterday after being charged with two counts of attempted murder, section 18 assault, and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. He was remanded in custody.

The victim remains hospitalized in stable condition following the January 16 incident. Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Team recovered a firearm from the scene that is now undergoing forensic analysis.

Seven other males arrested in connection with the shooting have been bailed pending further investigation. The group includes three juveniles, an 18-year-old, a 19-year-old, a man in his 20s, and a man in his 40s.

“Our investigation has been meticulous since the incident happened on Thursday, which has now led to us charging one of the eight males we arrested over the weekend,” said Detective Chief Inspector Charlotte Whalley of GMP’s Major Incident Team. “Whilst most firearms incidents are targeted and do not pose a threat to the wider public, we know the fear and anxiety these incidents cause amongst our communities.”
