Serious Collision Investigation Unit appeal for witnesses and footage following serious collision on M66
A Citroen Dispatch crashed into the M66 barrier near Bury after its driver suffered a suspected medical episode, leaving a man in his 50s in a life-threatening condition.
Officers from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for information after a road traffic collision that occurred in Bury on the M66.
At around 5:10pm on Wednesday 15 April, we were called to reports of a collision where a Citroen Dispatch collided with the barrier of the M66 motorway, before junction 1, as a result of a suspected medical episode. One man in his 50s was taken to hospital, where he remains in a life-threatening condition.
The SCIU are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
They are keen to speak to anyone who may have CCTV footage, dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the incident.
