Scarecrow trail hailed as another big success

The Friends Of Diggle School (FODS) successfully organized a Scarecrow Trail, raising £3,200 for school projects, including replacing interactive whiteboards. Winners in various categories were announced, with prizes sponsored by local businesses.

Diggle School’s annual Scarecrow Trail has generated £3,200 for pupil-focused initiatives, with organizers announcing the winners across four categories.

The Friends Of Diggle School (FODS) reported that Wallace and Gromit dominated the adult category, taking first place, while securing second in both kids’ choice and funniest categories. Minions claimed the children’s top spot and shared the most creative prize with Peter Pan and Hook, who also placed third with youngsters. Donald Trump and friends earned the funniest award.

Tracy Buckley, FODS coordinator, confirmed the funds will replace every interactive whiteboard in classrooms. “This will help with all the children’s learning and make lessons more fun and interactive,” she said. Redrow sponsored the £50 first prizes, Grandpa Greene’s Luxury Ice Cream provided £25 vouchers for second place, and Easter hampers went to third prize winners.
