Royton and Crompton Academy cadets do locals proud when marking Armed Forces Day
Cadets from Royton and Crompton Academy participated in Armed Forces Day celebrations by raising money and awareness in Royton town centre, distributing free steak pasties and engaging with the public. The event continued in Springfield Park, Rochdale, with various military and community groups joining in. The cadets received praise for their efforts, and the event was described as a great success.
Royton and Crompton Academy cadets marched through the town centre in full uniform to mark Armed Forces Day, handing out free steak pasties from Pound Bakery to surprised shoppers while raising money and awareness for the annual celebration.
The Combined Cadet Force members drew praise from locals who approached them throughout the day to express their respect and appreciation for the cadets’ efforts in celebrating the special event.
The celebrations continued later at Springfield Park in Rochdale, where Sgt Bernie Cummins and Sgt Kristina Moss led the CCF Cadets alongside Army Cadets, Sea Cadets, Marines, brass bands and bikers in a show of support for Armed Forces Day.
“A fantastic weekend was had by all and another great event where the CCF Cadets from Royton and Crompton Academy did us really proud,” a spokesperson said.
