Police seize more drugs and e-bikes in early morning Derker raid

Greater Manchester Police conducted an early morning raid in Derker, seizing £1,000 worth of cannabis and three e-bikes, and arresting a 39-year-old man on suspicion of drug-related offenses. The operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat crime and anti-social behavior in the area.

Greater Manchester Police seized £1,000 worth of cannabis and three off-road bikes during an early-morning raid in Derker on Tuesday as part of their ongoing Operation Vulcan crackdown on neighbourhood crime.

Officers searching the property recovered the drugs and found two off-road bikes plus a surron bike in the garage, all of which will be seized as police target criminals using e-bikes for anti-social behaviour. A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs and remains in custody awaiting questioning.

The warrant marks another success for Operation Vulcan, which launched in March and has already resulted in nearly 30 arrests, twelve seized vehicles and e-bikes, and dismantled drug lines across the area. Sergeant Joseph Dunne confirmed officers would maintain a visible presence throughout Tuesday, conducting traffic operations to target anti-social driving and operating a knife arch at Derker tram stop.

“We hope that residents are already seeing and feeling a difference in the area, and our proactivity will not stop,” Sergeant Dunne said. “This is another great result for the local operation, and I am sure plenty more will come thanks to the intelligence we are receiving from the public and our partners who are fed up with criminals operating in the area.”

Police urge anyone with information about organised crime to contact them directly or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
