Police appeal for information following stabbing in Tameside

Police are appealing for information after a man in his 20s was stabbed in Denton, Tameside, on 2 April 2025. The victim's injuries are not life-threatening. A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and a woman in her 40s was arrested for assisting an offender; both have been bailed. Authorities believe the attack was targeted and are urging witnesses to come forward.

A man in his 20s suffered stab wounds during a targeted attack at a Denton home Wednesday afternoon, prompting police to arrest two suspects on attempted murder and accessory charges.

Emergency crews rushed to the Yew Tree Road address around 3:10 pm after reports of a stabbing. The victim, whose injuries are not considered life-threatening, was transported to hospital for treatment.

Officers quickly apprehended a man in his 20s on suspicion of attempted murder and a woman in her 40s on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both have been released on bail while detectives continue their investigation.

Detective Inspector Ian Parker of Tameside district emphasized the seriousness with which Greater Manchester Police treats knife violence. “We have acted swiftly to detain two individuals. I would like to reassure our community that we believe this to be a targeted attack,” Parker stated. “We take knife-related incidents incredibly serious at Greater Manchester Police and are determined to secure justice for the victim.”
