Operation Vulcan seize more drugs and e-bikes in early morning raid
Police from Operation Vulcan conducted an early morning raid in Derker, seizing £1,000 worth of cannabis, two off-road bikes, and a Surron bike. A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs. The operation has made nearly 30 arrests since March, seized multiple vehicles and e-bikes, and targeted anti-social behavior. Officers remain on patrol to reassure residents and conduct traffic operations, including a knife arch at the Derker tram stop.
Operation Vulcan officers stormed a Derker property early Tuesday morning, seizing £1,000 worth of cannabis and three off-road vehicles in the latest blow against neighbourhood crime.
The 39-year-old occupant was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs after police discovered the cannabis stash inside the house. In the garage, officers found two off-road bikes and a surron bike that will be confiscated as part of the crackdown on anti-social behaviour involving e-bikes.
The suspect remains in custody awaiting questioning. The raid marks the 30th arrest since Operation Vulcan launched in March, with officers also seizing a dozen vehicles and e-bikes and dismantling drug lines operating across the area.
Sergeant Joseph Dunne confirmed patrols would continue throughout the day to reassure residents, with a traffic operation targeting dangerous driving and a knife arch positioned at Derker tram stop. “We hope that residents are already seeing and feeling a difference in the area, and our proactivity will not stop,” Dunne said. “This is another great result for the local operation, and I am sure plenty more will come thanks to the intelligence we are receiving from the public and our partners who are fed up with criminals operating in the area.”
