Justin Moorhouse to Co-Host 2025 Oldham Business Awards as Finalists Announced

More than 30 businesses and individuals have been shortlisted for the 2025 Oldham Business Awards, with comedian and actor Justin Moorhouse set to co-host the glittering gala dinner where winners will be revealed.

The finalists were announced at Grains Bar Hotel in Oldham, itself a winner from last year’s ceremony. The awards ceremony will take place on October 3, 2025, at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in Oldham, where Moorhouse will share hosting duties with Caroline Whitmore, Granada Reports entertainment correspondent. The Not Quite Big Band will provide musical entertainment, having created an “excellent atmosphere” at last year’s event.

Now in their 17th year, the awards celebrate excellence and entrepreneurial spirit within the Oldham business community. The event has raised more than £60,000 for local charities over the years, with this year’s proceeds supporting Mahdlo Youth Zone and Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.

David Wadsworth, chair of the Oldham Business Awards and managing director of Cornerstone Design and Marketing, praised the quality of this year’s entries. “The Oldham Business Awards showcase the most inspiring organisations and business individuals in the borough,” he said. “A survey deemed Oldham to be one of the best places in the UK to start up or relocate a business to, so we should be proud of what we’re achieving as a collective.”

The awards feature 11 categories, with businesses competing for titles ranging from Business of the Year to Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Notable finalists include Gustaf Creative Ltd, Barlows UK Ltd, and Widdop & Co. in the £5 million-plus category, while Oldham Rugby League Football Club and Fit4Sport Ltd feature in the £1-5 million bracket.

Albion House Wealth Management serves as headline sponsor for this year’s awards, joined by long-time supporters Oldham Council and Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers. The ceremony annually attracts around 550 guests for an evening that includes a drinks reception, pre-show casino, awards presentation, and after-party.
