Oldham bus station roof damaged as Storm Claudia hits the town
Storm Claudia has caused damage to the roof of Oldham bus station, with part of the roof left hanging. Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has diverted some services to nearby stations and advises travellers to check the Bee Network website for updates before traveling on Saturday.
Roof Damaged at Oldham Bus Station as Storm Claudia Hits Town
Strong winds have battered the region tonight, causing part of the roof at Oldham West bus station to be damaged.
Images from the scene appeared to show part of the roof structure hanging down amid heavy rain and strong winds.
A cordon was in place at the scene.
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) confirmed that part of the roof had been damaged as a result of the storm.
Services were transferred to other nearby locations, with no other impact to these services.
People planning on travelling are being urged to check ahead using the Bee Network website or app.
A TfGM spokesperson said: “As a result of Storm Claudia, part of the roof at Oldham West bus station has been damaged this evening (Friday).

“A small number of bus services that usually operate from Oldham West bus station are instead operating from Cheapside bus station and Rochdale Road, with no other impact to these services.
“We’re urging everyone across Greater Manchester to go to the Bee Network website or app and check before they travel on Saturday morning, in case their journey has been impacted by the storm.”
