Officers investigate road traffic collision in Trafford
A 40-year-old man died after attempting to stop his parked vehicle from rolling down Shay Lane in Trafford. Emergency services responded, but the man succumbed to his injuries. GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit is seeking witnesses or footage related to the incident.
A 40-year-old man has died after being struck by his own vehicle while attempting to prevent it from rolling down Shay Lane in Trafford on Monday evening.
Emergency services responded to reports of a road traffic collision around 5:30pm on 18 November. The victim, who was seated in the front nearside passenger seat of his parked vehicle, had been waiting for a work colleague to return when the vehicle began rolling down the slight decline on Shay Lane.
Initial police enquiries indicate the man attempted to stop the moving vehicle before sustaining serious injuries. He was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is now seeking witnesses to the incident. Officers are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have captured dashcam or mobile phone footage of the moments leading up to the collision.
