Teen Charged with Multiple Sex Offences in Trafford as Police Seek Additional Victims
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with three sexual assaults and two counts of indecent exposure following reports of attacks on women in Trafford between February and June this year.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested on Sunday after three women reported being sexually assaulted in the Stretford and Sale areas. Police also received two separate reports of someone exposing themselves near the canal in Sale.
Following an investigation by Trafford North Neighbourhood Policing Team, the suspect appeared in court this week where he admitted all five offences. He was bailed and will be sentenced in August.
Inspector Scott Wolstenholme of the Trafford North Neighbourhood Policing Team said officers had deployed both high-visibility and covert patrols in response to the reports. “Extra officers will continue to patrol the areas to deter further incidents as we know reports of this nature will cause concern,” he said.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have been a victim of sexual assault or witnessed any incidents to come forward. Reports can be made by calling 101 and quoting log 732-150625, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
