Officers appeal for information after phone taken without payment in Oldham
Police in Oldham are seeking information after a woman sold a mobile phone for £700 via social media, but the buyer allegedly failed to transfer the payment as promised. The incident occurred in Chadderton in November, and authorities have released a photo of a man they wish to question.
Greater Manchester Police are asking the public to identify a man photographed after a £700 phone sale arranged on social media ended without payment.
According to investigators, the seller - a woman from Chadderton - advertised the handset in November and struck a £700 deal with a male buyer. When he collected the device from her address, he told her he had sent the money through a banking app; no transfer ever arrived.
Detectives have released an image of a person they “believe could assist with enquiries” and are urging anyone who recognises him to come forward.
