Robbery Leaves Man Fighting for Life as Police Hunt Second Suspect
A 48-year-old man remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being attacked during what police believe was a robbery Sunday evening on Nicolas Road.
Officers responded to reports of an altercation around 7:54pm on December 29, 2024, where two men allegedly assaulted the victim. One suspect fled the scene on an e-bike following the incident.
A 46-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody for questioning. Police continue to search for the second suspect involved in the attack.
Crime scene investigators have cordoned off Nicolas Road and adjoining Oswald Road as they examine a nearby property connected to the investigation. Additional officers will patrol the area in the coming days to reassure residents.
Detective Inspector Shauna Hayden from GMP’s City of Manchester district stated: “Officers are on the scene fully investigating all aspects of this shocking incident that has left a man with serious injuries in hospital. While our work so far has secured an arrest, we are now appealing for anyone with any relevant information to please come forward.”
