The Oldham Bar Hop, a new beer festival and bar crawl, will take place in Oldham on August 2-3, featuring 14 local pubs, bars, and venues. The event aims to highlight the town's nightlife, independent businesses, and culture, with activities like a pop-up beer festival and a chance to win a limited-edition t-shirt.

Oldham to Host Major Beer Festival and Pub Crawl This Weekend

Oldham is set to showcase its vibrant nightlife with a new beer festival and pub crawl event taking place this Saturday and Sunday, August 2-3. The “Oldham Bar Hop” will feature 14 venues across the town centre, including pubs, bars, and restaurants, each offering unique drinks and experiences.

Starting at noon each day, the free event kicks off at Billingtons Ballroom on Ashcroft Street, which will host a pop-up beer festival with two bars, six real ale lines, six craft beer and cider lines, cocktails, and street food.

Participants can collect stamps at each venue when purchasing a drink, with completed maps earning a limited-edition Oldham Bar Hop T-shirt.

Among the highlights is the Fox & Pine on Greaves Street, recently named Greater Manchester’s Pub of the Year at the Great British Beer Festival.

Cllr Peter Dean, Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure at Oldham Council, praised the initiative: “The Oldham Bar Hop is a fantastic way to showcase the brilliant local venues we have in our town centre. It’s about bringing local back - celebrating our pubs, bars, and clubs, encouraging people to support local businesses, and creating a buzzing, welcoming atmosphere right here in Oldham.”

Other participating venues include The Bank Top Tavern, Bees Knees, The Egyptian Room, The George Tavern, Liquid and Envy, Whittles@Tokyo, Molino Lounge, The Tommyfield, Town Hall Tavern, Up Steps Inn, The Ashton Arms, and The Old Bank.

Maps are available from all participating venues and updates will be posted on their social media pages and the I Love Oldham Facebook page.
