New all-day cafe coming to Oldham tram stop
A new all-day cafe, Go Coffee, is set to open near Westwood tram stop in Oldham, offering coffee, pastries, and sandwiches to commuters, healthcare workers, students, and visitors. The cafe, approved by Oldham Council, will operate from 7am to 10pm and aims to provide a welcoming atmosphere with both indoor seating and a takeaway counter.
Go Coffee Opens at Westwood Tram Stop, Bringing First Cafe to Oldham Commuters
A former office on Middleton Road will transform into Go Coffee, the area’s first cafe, after Oldham Council approved planning permission for Mohammed Mufti Miah’s new venture. The all-day establishment will serve commuters, healthcare workers, students and medical centre visitors from 7am to 10pm daily.
Miah, who brings over 20 years of hospitality and food industry experience to the project, promises a ‘welcoming’ atmosphere with an extensive selection of drinks and snacks including doughnuts, pastries and sandwiches. The cafe will feature indoor seating alongside a takeaway counter designed for ‘quick, convenient stop’ during morning rush hours.
“The proposed café, Go Coffee, will bring a high-quality, locally focused amenity to 166 Middleton Road,” according to planning documents. “With its proximity to the Westwood tram stop and the applicant’s extensive experience in the food industry, the café is well-positioned to meet the needs of students and professionals travelling to and from Manchester.”
The council granted full approval under conditions requiring a plan to manage fumes and odours while protecting the upstairs flat from noise.
