Man jailed following investigation into Class-A drug dealing in Manchester
Anas Hassan from Cornford Avenue, Manchester, was sentenced to three years in prison at Manchester Crown Court for supplying crack cocaine and heroin across Central Manchester. Police seized three phones used for drug deals during a May 12 raid and credited PCs Khan and Ditta for securing the conviction.
A man has been jailed for three years following an extensive investigation into the supply of Class A drugs across the Central Manchester area.
Anas Hassan (21/03/2007), of Cornford Avenue, received his sentence on Friday (17 April) at Manchester Crown Court, after previously being found guilty of being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin.
On 12 May, an early-morning rapid-entry warrant was executed at the address on Cornford Avenue, Manchester.
Within Hassan’s address, three phones were seized and attributed to him. Each were suspected of being used to sell drugs to people within the community as part of a specific line, with each of them receiving multiple calls and texts from various numbers following their seizure.
Officers soon determined that Hassan had been involved in supplying dangerous Class A drugs to people within the Manchester area.
Following the arrest, Hassan was later interviewed and replied no comment to all questions in relation to the drugs supply. He was charged with the offences following extensive work.
The investigation was led by PC Khan and PC Ditta, who assisted in ensuring a charge was secured following the action.
Inspector Zac Campbell, from GMP’s Gorton & Levenshulme Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “This is a significant result for the local area and ensures that someone who was involved in the distribution of dangerous drugs to vulnerable people in the community is now off the streets.
“Local officers PCs Khan and Ditta have been instrumental in getting the case this far and putting a criminal behind bars.
“I hope this sends a very clear message to criminality within our community; we will never tolerate your actions and will be relentless in pursuing you. We will be looking to secure arrests, charges, and take away your illicit products and ill-gotten cash.
“If anyone has any issues they’d like to flag to us, please do get in touch. We will do what we can to assist and deal with any problems you have in your area.”
