Man charged following sexual assault investigation as officers appeal for further information

A man named Mobarak Almutairi has been charged with sexual assault, two counts of indecent exposure, and possession of indecent images following an investigation in Manchester city centre. Police are appealing for further victims or witnesses to come forward.

Manchester police have charged 30-year-old Mobarak Almutairi with sexual assault, two counts of indecent exposure, and possession of two indecent images following an investigation into incidents in the city centre.

Almutairi, who resides on Whitworth Street West, was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before Manchester and Salford Magistrates today, 28 February 2025. The charges stem from what investigators describe as a pattern of sexual offences occurring in central Manchester.

Detective Inspector Geoffrey Machent of Greater Manchester Police’s City of Manchester district confirmed that while charges have been filed, the investigation remains active. “While we have secured a charge of an individual in connection with this investigation, we are still seeking further potential victims and witnesses, who may be able to provide more information as we continue our work,” Machent stated.

Police are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who believes they may have been subjected to inappropriate filming or indecent exposure in the city centre area. “I would urge anyone with any information to please get in touch with officers, who will handle your call with respect and dignity,” Machent added. Anyone with information can contact police on 101, use the Live Chat service at gmp.police.uk, call Manchester CID directly on 0161 856 6165, or reach Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
